Folded Life

I write you this letter
Before you continue
Please make a promise
Say it now and not later
One tear will not fall
Or escape your eye
For this is my last goodbye
I gave this all I could
Gave it one last try
But in the end
I must say my friend
I cannot try again
This is my time
To leave this all behind
I know now my purpose
What I must do next
This will not leave a void
Nothing that time cannot fix
This is all true and real
These words hide no tricks
Tonight this blade is ready
My life it will steal
I hold it flat against my chest
The coldness touches me
Now I stare into it
My reflection is all it sees
Waiting and ready to do it
A job that must be done
Saying goodbye is never fun
But remember you are someone
Even after I am gone from here
I will always remember you my friend
Now my time comes to a close
The blade now stares into me
Ready to set me free
So take this as my last goodbye
Even after I die
You promised not to cry
